Low Voltage Cables
Visico™/Ambicat™ XLPE insulation system provides cost efficient solutions for Low Voltage Overhead cables
|

|
The need for more consistent reliability in the delivery of power, in combination with the requirement for fast network deployment, is driving demand for low voltage (LV) overhead cables.
To meet this demand, Borealis offers a range of insulation solutions able to satisfy the specifications of all major types of overhead LV cables. In addition to simple thermoplastic solutions, Borouge and Borealis also delivers advanced solutions based on its proprietary Visico™/Ambicat™ moisture cure, crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) technology
|
An ideal insulation system
Visico/Ambicat has been designed to bring greater benefits to end users and network owners by increasing the potential for uninterrupted power supply through:
· reducing the risk of power outages;
· long-term weatherability and retention of insulation properties;
· higher thermal resistance;
· ability to accept temporary overloads without damage to cable
Simplifying and raising XLPE production productivity
|
Visico/Ambicat is designed to reduce complexity and cost in the production of high quality, moisture cure, LV cables.
It is a two component system and is delivered in pellet form fully quality controlled. It comprises a base material and proprietary catalyst that provides for fast crosslinking in ambient conditions, improved ease of cable processing and minimal downtime which leads to higher productivity than with any other technology.
Other key features of the system are: |

|
· a unique scorch retardant technology – allows for longer production runs and less time for cleaning of extruders;
· increased output and quality using standard extruders
Better for environment and people
Visico/Ambicat insulation system has low environmental impact. Its catalyst system has no tin and the system contains no flammable liquid nor harmful additives. Besides, Visico/Ambicat does not require any energy for elevated temperature crosslinking.
