| Borstar bimodal HDPE for blow moulding enables converters to produce containers which are considerably lighter, but deliver better performance in terms of: |
| |
- Weight Reduction:
Bottle weight can be reduced by as much as 10 per cent, thus improving its stacking performance and reducing cost in transportation and storage.
|
- Better Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR):
The ESCR is three times higher than that of conventional products, thus providing excellent stiffness and strength.
|
- Superior Top Load Performance:
Bottle top load is directly related to stacking performance of filled bottles. Bottles in a warehouse at the bottom of the stack carry a lot of weight, and are therefore more exposed to stress cracking, especially in Asia, where temperature is higher.
|
- Shorter Cycle Time:
Bimodal materials flow better in the extruders, and can be extruded at temperatures 30 to 40°C lower than unimodal products. This results in shorter cooling time and higher output. Lower pressure in the extruder, less back pressure and melt back flow contribute to a more stable production.
|
- Low Taste and Odour:
Low additive migration means no issues with milk and juices.

| Polyethylene has long been an integral raw material for injection moulding. It offers a good combination of properties including impact resistance, chemical resistance and relatively high stiffness. It is also easy to re-grind and recycle. |
| |
| Borouge produces grades with an optimised combination of flow and mechanical properties, which result in shorter cycle time, and good processability. |
| |
| Borstar® Technology makes it possible to produce HDPE bimodal injection moulding grades with exceptionally good impact properties - even at low temperatures, good resistance to corrosive chemicals, and higher stiffness. |
| |
| Borouge offers Borstar® bimodal HDPE grades MB7541 & MB7542 for injection moulding applications such as caps and closures. |

| Borouge offers Borealis polypropylene for blow moulding. |
| |
| The PP blow moulding market is dominated by polypropylene random copolymers due to their transparent and glossy characteristics. Generally, PP has excellent water vapour barrier properties and good heat resistance, and is suitable for sterilisation and pasteurisation. • Excellent transparency due to a highly effective nucleation agent. |
| |
| Key benefits of our random copolymers for blow moulding include: |
| |
• Excellent transparency due to a highly effective nucleation agent
• Low taste and odour
• Good impact strength and high drop resistance due to high ethylene content
• Organoleptically safe
• Full compliance with food contact regulations. |

| Borcene Compact ™ - an advanced polymer technology. |
| |
|
| The rotational moulding market is developing fast, both in terms of technical advancement and in total volume. To contribute to the market’s demand for more competitive ways of production and enhanced material properties, our parent company, Borealis, has developed an advanced polymer technology, Borecene - the third generation of polyethylene for the rotomoulding industry. |
| |
| Compared to standard PE grades, metallocene catalysed Borecene offers: |
| |
• Excellent transparency due to a highly effective nucleation agent.
• Improved flow properties for improved process efficiency.
• Less resin complexity for simplified material handling.
• Light weighting potential resulting in significant material savings.
• Better surface finish for enhanced aesthetic quality.
• Less wall bubbles enabling optimal moulding performance. |
| |
| Borecene Compact is a black powder format of Borecene, which eliminates the need for traditional powder grinding, thereby bringing additional advtanges: |
| |
• Improved mould filling.
• Easier flow in complicated parts.
• Better environmental conditions.
• Less dust.
• Improved powder quality. |
