On track for start-up in 2010 in Abu Dhabi

The Borouge Innovation Centre's vision is to become the leader of innovative plastics solutions in the Middle East and Asia. Located in Abu Dhabi city close to the Petroleum Institute in Sas Al Nakheel, the Innovation Centre is planned to be operational by end of 2011 to ensure full support for the Borouge 2 market introduction and Borstar® grade application development. Borouge 2 will triple Borouge’s production capacity and introduce 800,000 tonnes Borstar PP grades into the Middle East and Asia. With state of the art equipment, the Innovation Centre will initially focus on development of pipe, film and moulding applications.

Further value will be created via co-operations with customers and universities. The Innovation Centre will respond to market needs and enhance education and know-how in plastics material development, not least by providing interesting job opportunities in Abu Dhabi for innovative experts from around the world.

From 2008 to 2011 approximately 50 people, including Borouge and Borealis experts, will be needed to plan, commission and start-up the Innovation Centre. Specifically, this means technicians and researchers for the application hall and analytical and physical testing laboratories, in addition to managers and product developers. We intend to recruit experienced and motivated people for this exciting start-up.

| The Abu Dhabi Innovation Centre will enhance Borouge’s capability to serve its customers and to develop grades according to their needs. The Innovation Centre is an investment by Borouge to strengthen its sales and marketing and to support its customers’ ambitions in Shaping the Future with Plastics. | |
