Polyethylene producer and distributor, Borouge has announced the appointment of Mr Hubert Puchner as its new Chief Executive Officer. With effect from 1 November 2001, Mr Puchner will take over the helm of managing Borouge from Mr Teuvo Kulmala. Mr Kulmala will be returning to Borealis, one of Borouge’s parent companies, as the Vice President, Business Unit PE after heading Borouge for the past four years.
Based at the Sales & Marketing headquarters in Singapore, Mr Puchner will be responsible for spearheading Borouge’s dynamic growth across the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions, including overseeing the company’s overall sales and marketing activities.
A veteran in the petrochemical industry, Mr Puchner joins Borouge with strong leadership skills, keen market knowledge and technical expertise. Mr Puchner built his 35-year career in Borealis and PCD Polymere, which was later acquired by the Borealis Group in 1998. During his 32-year service with PCD Polymere, Mr Puchner held several management positions, including Director, Business Unit PP as well as Marketing and Sales Manager, Extrusion. He spent three years with Borealis A/S as Vice President, Business Unit Pipe before his new appointment with Borouge.
