Borouge showcased its innovative plastics solutions at the Import Goods Fair 2011 held in Seoul, South Korea, in June 2011, as part of the company’s support to the Ministry of Foreign Trade who organized the UAE’s participation in the exhibition. Representing ADNOC and its Group of Companies, Borouge was a key exhibitor in the UAE pavilion which included a group of UAE companies such as General Holding Company (GHC), Khalifa Industrial Zone of Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and Emirates Aluminium (EMAL).

The event was also attended by senior Korean government officials, representatives of import/export and construction associations, trade organisations, contractors, ambassadors and businessmen.

The Import Goods Fair in Korea provided a good opportunity for the participating UAE companies to hold discussions with the Koreans to expand their investments and exports to the promising Korean market. Several meetings were held between representatives of the UAE companies and their counterparts in Korea where they discussed the possibilities of establishing business partnerships and setting up projects in both countries. The UAE is considered the second largest exporting market for Korea in the Middle East, while Korea is one of the biggest investors in commodities and services in the UAE. The successful participation of the UAE delegate in the fair gained the country the Best Pavilion Award in the exhibition.
