The event, organised by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in cooperation with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, aimed to further promote economic and trade cooperation and friendly exchanges between China and countries of the world, Arab states and other Islamic countries in particular. Held under the theme “Pass on Friendship, Push Forward Cooperation, Seek for Common Development”, the trade fair and forum were attended by senior Chinese government officials and representatives of major economic entities and trade organisations, ambassadors and businessmen.
The 2011 China (Ningxia) International Investment & Trade Fair and the 2nd China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum provided a good opportunity for Borouge and other participating UAE companies to hold discussions with their Chinese counterparts to expand mutual investments and deeply explore both countries’ markets. The event included high-level workshops on activating China-Arab states economic, trade and cultural ties, as well as international energy and financial cooperation.

Several meetings were held between representatives of Borouge and the UAE companies and their Chinese counterparts where they discussed the possibilities of enhancing bilateral trade relations, establishing business partnerships and setting up projects in both countries. China is one of the important business areas for Borouge in Asia-Pacific, and due to its importance Borouge has been expanding its manufacturing, marketing, sales and innovative ability in key cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong SAR. The UAE too is a significant market for the Chinese due to its strategic location in the middle of the Arab world.
