Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value-creating plastics solutions, announced the appointment of Vincent Ong as Senior Vice President for Greater China with effect from July 1, 2012.
Mr. Ong comes to Borouge with more than 20 years of management experience and a strong track record in leading businesses in Greater China and Asia Pacific (APAC) across a wide spectrum of industries covering chemicals, semiconductors and electronics.
Prior to joining Borouge, he was the Regional Marketing Director for APAC at Huntsman. Before that, he held a number of senior positions at Huntsman as Global Strategic Alliance Director, Commercial Director and General Manager. He also held various leadership roles as Divisional President for Greater China at Rohm Electronics, Asia President of Weidmuller Interface and Managing Director for Key Japanese Accounts, Fujitsu Devices Singapore. Through these positions, he led significant achievements in driving incremental business growth and commercial wins in APAC.
Based in Shanghai, Mr. Ong joins the Executive Team of Borouge’s Marketing & Sales Company and reports directly to the CEO, Wim Roels.
Mr. Ong, a Singapore citizen, holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, USA; and a Master of Science in Japanese Business Studies from the Chaminade University of Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
