Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, hosted a number of seminars for targeted customers and potential users in China since January this year to promote its latest lightweight automotive material solutions.

 

Borouge participated in two major exhibitions this year in which the Company introduced its Xmod™ GB306SAFC. The exhibitions are Chinaplas, Asia’s largest plastics industry trade show which was held in Shanghai from April 18-21, and the International Automotive Plastic Air Intake Manifold seminar which was attended by more than 60 participants from numerous OEMs and TIER1s in late February. The Xmod™ GB306SAFC is a  polypropylene (PP) compound that is designed to replace PA6 in air-intake manifolds and generated strong interest due to its role in weight saving and cost reduction.

 

Borouge had another opportunity last March to showcase its innovative solutions for automotive applications and its latest developments at the International Automotive Lightweight Materials Congress.

 

Borouge’s innovative polypropylene solutions are used for all different types of automotive parts.  Partly painted bumpers can be moulded with one single material combining an excellent surface quality and high paint adhesion paired with an easy processability and low shrinkage. Borouge’s products are also state-of-the art for interior parts with outstanding surface aesthetics and a very balanced mechanical performance.

 

The newly developed glass fibre filled PP compounds of Borouge are replacing PA6 and other engineered plastics in several structural parts achieving mechanical ISO-performance at significantly reducing cost.

 

“Our PP compounds are technically versatile and offer more cost effective solutions and weight saving benefits when compared to traditional engineered polymers such as PA,” comments Thomas Rothmayer, Application Marketing Manager Mobility. “They make a positive contribution to meet the industry’s manufacturing and regulatory challenges and support efforts for lower fuel consumption. We are demonstrating how our PP materials are the engineering plastics of the future.”

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its Group of Companies are participating, as a general supporter, in the 8th Middle East Refining and Petrochemicals Conference & Exhibition (Middle East Petrotech 2012), which will kick off under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salem Al Khalifa, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, from May 20-23.

 

The high level technical conference, which runs in parallel with the exhibition of products and services, takes place this year under the theme ‘Creating Value: Technology, Investment & People’. The pace-setting agenda incorporates 14 executive keynote and plenary speakers, and more than 90 technical and poster presentations. The conference and the exhibition are expected to receive attendance of more than 1,500 delegates representing over 100 companies from more than 20 countries.

 

ADNOC & its Group of Companies will be looking forward to achieve a dynamically active participation at the event through highlighting its contribution to enhance the refining and petrochemicals industry in the UAE. The event provides the Group with an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experience and the latest technological developments of the industry with other regional and international participants of the event.

 

The event will focus on discussing the technical and business changes and the extensive opportunities the Middle East is facing in managing what have become the world’s most important energy reserves.
