Borouge’s PE 100 material Borstar® HE3490-LS offers significant product benefits compared to conventional materials. On top of its Minimum Required Strength (MRS) of 10.0, this grade offers also elevated resistance to Slow Crack Growth (SCG) and Rapid Crack propagation (RCP) compared to many HDPE resins on the market.
Borstar® HE3490-LS was designed to minimize the Low Sag phenomena, occurring on large pipe with thick thickness. Borstar® HE3490-LS PE 100 material enables large diameter thick walled pipe to be produced.
For instance, this Low Sag bimodal compound enables pipe manufacturers to produce high performance PN 10 pipes of up to 1600 mm in diameter and wall thickness of 100mm. Typical applications are big diameter pipes for large-scale water transportation projects.
Pipe made out of PE 100 Borstar® HE3490-LS are now widely used around the world for transporting and distribution water, gas, and chemicals.
