Quality Management System Certification
Quality has been one of the top priorities for us since inception. To demonstrate our commitment to deliver high quality products, we have implemented an effective quality management system. Borouge has been certified since year 2002 and have been audited successfully by international certification bodies such as DNV, TUV Nord and RINA in the past and is currently Certified by ABS Quality Evaluations.
Continuing our commitment to quality and enhanced customer satisfaction, our compounding facility in (China) was certified in 2011 for specific requirements for the application of IATF 16949 for automotive production and relevant service part organisation.
Energy Management System Certification (ISO 50001:2018)
ISO 50001 specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system, whose purpose is to enable an organisation to follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and consumption. The standard specifies requirements applicable to energy use and consumption, including measurement, documentation and reporting, design and procurement practices for equipment, systems, processes and personnel that contribute to energy performance.
Borouge has got certified to ISO 50001:2018 for Borouge plants in Ruwais in December 2015.
Environmental Management System Certification
Our dedication to the environment resulted in environmental management system certification as per the requirements of ISO 14001 since 2006.
Responsible Care® Certification
In 2013 Borouge attained the Responsible care management system RC14001 certification. We were the first company in the Gulf to have achieved this on an international level across all of its operations. This certification broadens the scope of the ISO 14001 standard beyond the traditional environmental management system, to include health and safety, security, distribution, product stewardship, process safety, community awareness and emergency response.
Requirements for IATF 16949, ISO 14001 standards and RC14001 technical specifications are integrated into our Integrated Management System (IMS).
Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certifications – ISO 45001:2018
ISO 45001 is a global standard for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems against which a company management system can be independently assessed. This standard significantly shifts the way occupational health and safety is perceived in an Organisation, as it provides a structured framework for ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.
The implementation of ISO 45001:2018 Standard allows Borouge to manage both risks and opportunities by eliminating the potential hazards and by finding opportunities to improve the overall health and safety performance. The new requirements focus on a process based approach and are dynamic in nature. It takes into account the business context and inputs from all parties to identify risks and opportunities to proactively manage and improve health and safety of our employees and our stakeholders The implementation of ISO 45001:2018 Standard and its compliance has helped to establish a sound and sustainable HSE Practice within the organisation.
The elements of ISO 45001:2018 standard are already embedded in the Borouge Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) and hence has been able to demonstrate conformance to the ISO 45001:2018 standard requirements on a continous basis.
Global Recycled Standards (GRS)
The Global Recycle Standard is an international, voluntary, full-product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content and chain of custody. It also verifies responsible social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions.
International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS
International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification confirms the traceability and compliance to sustainability standards of our practices across every step of our supply chain. The ISCC is a globally applicable sustainable certification system and covers all sustainable feedstock including circular materials and renewables.
This certification covers the Bornewables™, Borouge’s latest range of circular premium polyolefins produced with renewable feedstock derived entirely from waste and residue streams.
